Kappa Detroit Foundation to Transform Vacant Property into Community GardenPhase 1 launches with community volunteer event scheduled for September 26
DETROIT — September 2026 — The Kappa Detroit Foundation (KDF) is transforming an underutilized property at 3907 Canton St. in Detroit into a new Community Garden designed to promote healthy living, wellness, education, environmental stewardship and greater neighborhood engagement.
The project will officially launch with a Community Garden Volunteer Event on Saturday, September 26, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The volunteer effort will bring together Kappa Detroit Foundation members, community residents and volunteers to begin the physical transformation of the Foundation-owned property into a sustainable community asset.
